I’m an FAGD dentist! What does that mean for you and your family?
FAGD stands for Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Fellowship takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Only about 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. When you see a dentist with FAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. AGD Fellows practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year—not every dentist does this.
To become an AGD Fellow, a dentist must:
- Complete over 500 credit hours of CE.
- Earn 350 of those 500 credits in live courses.
- Pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.
Dr Tordoya is also a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and is working towards his Fellowship. He has already passed the rigorous written exam and completing his other requirements soon.
When Dr. Tordoya isn't making patients smile, he can usually be found having fun with his family.
Dr. Tordoya’s family includes his wife, Leslie, a registered nurse, and their daughter Abby. They enjoy spending time together and with their pet. Dr. Tordoya always finds time to be with his family and friends. His hobbies are traveling, reading, playing the guitar, listening to music, and enjoying all types of cuisine and cultures.
“I am really excited to offer my patients with the best comprehensive oral care they can receive. My biggest compliment is to gain your trust and referrals which I strive for every day.”
He is not just a wonderful dentist but also a caring person. He listens to your concerns and then explains to you what procedure has to be done. I would definitely recommend friends to this office because all the Dr. and staff make you feel welcome and very comfy. I’ve been going to so many different dentists but now will only come to this office. I want to thank everyone.
